This morning I slept in really late (10:30) and when I woke up, the first thought that came to my mind was, “waffles.”
I called Tony into the bedroom and asked him if he wanted waffles and then got up and made some bad-ass waffles.
I also cut up an orange for us to share. The orange was from my dad’s tree which produces the best navel oranges known to man.
Yesterday, Harry and David was having a store closing sale and I picked up a box of Russian Riviera pears for 50% off. It was still a bit of a splurge at half-off but SO WORTH IT! Those pears are so tasty!
I used one of the pears to make a sort-of fruit compote for my waffles. I just sliced it up, sprinkled a bit of evaporate cane juice on top, chopped some fresh ginger, and cooked it on medium-low for about 15 minutes. Tasty!
This was, without a doubt, a great way for us to start the day!
